6.5.2024.04 Update


- Added Variants Mode. With variants mode, you can create, share, and play run variants that change the game in many ways. Each variant can do the following:

A) Make changes to baubles that you start with, or are available in the shop

B) Change the starting deck, both removing and adding specific cards, and random cards, standard and nonstandard alike

C) Change the ante structure to either predefined difficulty levels or completely custom antes

D) Adjust special options, of which there are 16 at the moment. These range from simple options like starting chips and hand size, to the more complex like make the game start in the shop, or have an immovable card placed in every hand

You can save these variants locally, as well as export them as a string that other players can import. They will be saved as a part of a runs information, so when you look back at runs, the variant played will be viewable

Daily games now not only choose a random deck, but also a random variant from a small list of variants made by myself.

If you come up with some fun variants, paste the string for them in the comments to share with others! Maybe it'll even make it into the daily rotation!

To account for the new system, the file manager has completely changed, and old data will need to be erased in order for new data to work. If your old data persists, you will see a warning when opening the game that you should manually delete it by going to Options > Game Settings > Reset All Data

With all that being said, I have tested each option individually, and discovered no bugs. I would be very surprised however, if this release were completely bug free, considering the wide number of ways these new systems can interact with each other. I also had to make changes to many scripts for this to all work, so the potential for bugs is high. Please let me know if you see any behavior that you don't think is working as intended

More mundane changes follow

- Chip Magnet is now common, from uncommon, to put it in line with other economy baubles. I don't want players who want to base their economy differently struggle to find the baubles that will allow that playstyle

- Fixed hands showing up as part of played hand not resetting after playing a hand that does not clear the ante

- Treasure map cost up to 12, from 5. Maximum change to 2 from 1

- Changed Wooden Letter K. Was 15 chips, rare, "Scored kings get +5 multiplier, permanently". Now 6 chips, uncommon, "Each scored King adds +5 to multiplier"

- Changed Sandwich Monarch. Was "If scored hand contains only face cards, give a random one +3 multiplier permanently". Now "If scored hand contains any face cards, give a random one +1 multiplier for each scoring face card, permanently"
